You Pick the Car. We Pick Up the Tab for a Good Cause.

Shop For A Cause 2026 - Sales Team Posing by Donation Board

Most car-buying stories go like this: you show up, you negotiate, you drive away, and that's that. The dealership moves on. You move on. Nobody thinks too hard about what just happened. Walser wanted to change that last part.

It started the way most good ideas do. Not from a boardroom mandate, but from a simple belief that a business rooted in Minnesota communities should actually invest in them. We sell cars. A lot of them. And every single one of those transactions is an opportunity to do something that matters beyond the lot. So we made it the policy.

Every vehicle you buy or service at Walser puts money directly into The Walser Foundation, funding education, career training, and workforce development. Not a feel-good footnote. The actual policy. Every transaction, every location, every day of the year.

June just happens to be when we let you get in on it.

What Is Shop for a Cause?

Shop for a Cause is our annual sales event built on a simple idea: buy a car this June and send an extra $25 to a nonprofit of your choosing. Point it wherever your heart desires. This June, we have four nonprofits on the board. All Minnesota. All building something bigger than themselves, one person at a time.

The Organizations

Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) has spent 45 years showing up for Latino families across Minnesota. Behavioral health, career training, youth programs, elder support. The list is long because the need is real. Minnesota’s largest Latino-led nonprofit didn’t get there by accident.

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) works with Veterans who are one bad stretch away from losing stable housing. Case managers, personalized plans, real follow-through. In 2025 alone, they served 3,281 Veterans across the state. That's not a stat. That’s 3,281 people who had someone in their corner.

Northside Boxing Club is, technically, a boxing gym. But ask the kids in North Minneapolis what it actually is and they'll tell you: it's dinner, it's a mentor, it's a place that doesn't close on them. The gym is just the front door.

Simpson Housing Services has been keeping roofs over heads across four counties for years. In 2026, they opened Simpson Community Shelter and Apartments, bringing shelter, housing, and support services under one roof. Because people shouldn't have to navigate three different systems just to get stable.

Why We Do This

This isn't a PR move. Walser isn't doing this to feel good. We're doing it because we have been part of this state long enough to know that what's good for Minnesota is good for us, and vice versa. The families CLUES supports, the Veterans MACV houses, the kids Northside believes in. They're our neighbors. Our customers. Our people.

Buying a car is rarely an emotional experience. Shop for a Cause is our attempt to make it one, for the right reasons.

Now for the Part Where the Deals Come In

Good news: caring about your community and getting a great deal are not mutually exclusive. This June, we have lease and finance offers worth getting off the couch for.

Shop for a Cause runs all month. Browse current offers at walser.com/specials, or come in and tell us which nonprofit you’re backing. We’ll take it from there.
