This June, You Shopped. Over $90,000 Went to Work.

Some traditions involve fireworks. Ours involves pink hearts and a very full donation board. People walk in to buy a car, and somewhere between the test drive and the paperwork, they accidentally become philanthropists. That is Shop for a Cause, and this year it worked better than ever.

In June 2026, Walser customers across Minnesota and Kansas helped raise $92,875 for local nonprofits. No gala. No rubber chicken dinner. Just people doing something they were already planning to do, and dollars landing exactly where they matter.

MACV: Ending Veteran Homelessness in Minnesota

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) provides services and support to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. MACV focuses on helping Veterans access and maintain stable housing through housing, employment, and legal services. Case managers work alongside Veterans to create personalized plans and connect them with the resources needed to achieve long-term stability. In 2025, MACV served 3,281 Veterans across Minnesota.

Simpson Housing Services: A Roof, and Then Some

Simpson Housing Services supports people experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness across Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, and Carver counties. Each year, Simpson walks alongside roughly 1,600 people through shelter, supportive housing, and educational services for children and youth, and provides supportive housing to more than 600 households. This year they opened Simpson Community Shelter & Apartments, bringing shelter, housing, and support services together under one roof. Literally.

Northside Boxing Club: More Than a Gym

Every night in North Minneapolis, Northside Boxing Club opens its doors to kids looking for more than a workout. What they find is a hot meal, mentors who actually show up, structure, accountability, and a community that feels like family. From the gym to the garden to the barbershop, Northside helps young people build confidence, purpose, and a real vision for their future. The boxing is great. The belonging is better.

CLUES: 45 Years of Building Brighter Futures

Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio, better known as CLUES, has spent 45 years empowering Minnesota youth, individuals, and families through culturally responsive programs. As Minnesota’s largest Latino-led nonprofit, CLUES offers behavioral health services, career training, parenting support, youth and elder programs, arts and culture, and resource navigation. Rooted in serving Latino communities and open to all, CLUES helps newcomers and low-income families build brighter futures. Forty-five years in, they are just getting warmed up.

Our Kansas stores kept the momentum going, directing $8,375 to VFW Memorial Post 3115 and Envision, two organizations serving Veterans and their neighbors in the Wichita community.

Why We Do This

Here is the thing about community: it is not a marketing word. It is the people who fix your furnace in January, coach your kid’s hockey team, and wave you into traffic. Walser has been part of these communities for decades, and Shop for a Cause is our way of making sure the relationship goes both ways.

And June is just the headline event. Through The Walser Foundation, giving back is a year-round habit, not an annual photo op.
