Inside St. Paul’s Favorite Car Show: Subarus & Cold Brews 2025 Recap
If you drove past Walser Subaru St. Paul on August 24th, you probably heard it before you saw it: engines revving, laughter carrying over the lot, and the hiss of espresso machines pulling shot after shot. That’s right, our 4th annual Subarus & Cold Brews was back, and bigger than ever.
What started in 2022 as a “what if” between co-hosts Jack Kramer, Sales Manager, and JoAnn Mimbach, Sr. Analyst, has quickly turned into one of our favorite summer traditions. This year, more than 300 attendees and 150+ vehicles rolled into the lot, proving that a love of cars, coffee, and community is the kind of fuel that keeps this event thriving.
Whether you were there in person or scrolling through photos from the comfort of your couch, this recap brings the best of the day right to you: the cars, the coffee, the pets, and the people who made it all happen.

Cars That Tell Stories
From rugged, mud-splattered Subarus that looked ready to tackle the Boundary Waters, to spotless 1960s classics that could have cruised down Summit Avenue back in the day, the lineup had something for everyone. Even a few exotics showed up, drawing the kind of double takes you’d normally see on Grand Avenue during prom night.
Each car told its own story: restoration sagas, creative mods, proud “I bought it new” moments. The best part? Owners were eager to share. Conversations sparked between strangers, friendships formed, and new ideas for future builds were swapped over lattes and cold brews.
“Cars are more than machines; they’re extensions of creativity, passion, and personality. Events like this bring people together in a way that nothing else can,” said co-host Jack Kramer.

Community Partnerships in Action
Because what’s better than cars and coffee? Cars, coffee, and pets.
This year’s event teamed up with Ruff Start Rescue and Snap’t Cat Rescue to host a supply drive and on-site adoption. Attendees had the chance to meet some very good dogs and cats looking for forever homes, and by the end of the day, two lucky cats found theirs.

“Our Subaru and Cold Brews event was such a fantastic day! From the car show to supporting our furry friends with pet adoptions and supply donations, it was a true celebration of community,” said volunteer Elle Anderson.
It’s no surprise Subaru is known as the “dog-tested, dog-approved” brand, and seeing St. Paul families leave with both memories and new companions was one of the day’s most heartwarming highlights.

Flavor Fueled Fun
Of course, no Minnesota gathering is complete without food and coffee. Coffee Cart MPLS kept the caffeine flowing, Eggroll Queen and Taco Los 4 Carnales MN served up fan favorites, and vendors like Overtake USA and JM Automotive added their own gearhead flavor to the day. Between the smell of fresh brews, the sound of exhausts, and the taste of tacos that could rival any State Fair food truck, the event truly hit all five senses.

Celebrating the Standouts
Every show has its grand finale, and for Subarus & Cold Brews, that’s the awards. From Best Subaru to the day’s biggest crowd-pleasers, trophies were handed out as cheers, applause, and camera flashes filled the lot.
But it wasn’t just about taking home the hardware. The awards were about recognizing the dedication, creativity, and passion that fuel this community and leaving everyone a little more inspired for next year.
