Walser’s Employee Resource Group Drive with Pride set out to paint the town rainbow at the 53rd annual Twin Cities Pride Festival.

Pride, Prizes, and Plinko – Oh My!

Located between the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Timberwolves booths in Loring Park, Walser drove community outreach and engagement all weekend at the Twin Cities Pride Festival this year. A lively energy overtook the city of Minneapolis as the park filled in and booths began to garner crowds.

Drive With Pride volunteers got the chance to interact with thousands of Minnesotans, coming together in a spirited celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. By spinning our prize wheel or having a go at Plinko, attendees had the chance to win fabulous and fun prizes such as tote bags, air fresheners, and stickers at our booth. Additionally, a grand prize drawing took place, with the chance to win a $500 gas card or a custom Honda bike. In addition to live music, food trucks, and plentiful activities for all ages, Walser was one of over 400 exhibitors at the festival. This was an amazing opportunity to connect and engage with our local community in a meaningful way.

Celebrating All Makes and Models

On Sunday, June 29th, members of Drive with Pride set out down Hennepin Avenue in a vibrant rainbow fleet at the Twin Cities Pride Parade, featuring vehicles from our Buick, GMC, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, and Mitsubishi dealerships. Walser shared the road with dozens of floats, marching bands, and organizations supporting the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

The streets came alive with thousands of smiling faces and celebratory cheers, a deep sense of community and solidarity echoing through every attendee. While our crew honked in rhythm to pop hits from Cyndi Lauper and Chappell Roan, onlookers danced along with outstretched hands. Many within the crowd gifted hand-made jewelry, candy, and other accessories to those around them. Pride flags dazzled and waved in the bright summer sun. This was a grand celebration of unity, diversity, and strength, a chance to commemorate those who fought for the rights of future generations and to cherish the love we have for ourselves and others.

Drive With Pride (DWP) is an Employee Resource Group of the Walser Automotive Group, focused on LGBTQ+ issues including allyship, advocacy, and community involvement. Since its formation in 2019, DWP has been dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment within our company and beyond.
